The twelve by twelve tuff shed was for Mr. David Harley's Dog Bongo. That was fifteen years ago when his wife was still alive. Bongo died just three days after his wife. He used it for for yard stuff for a while. It was broken into and stuff was stolen. He pays for landscapers now and installed a ring doorbell above the door to his shed to monitor activity.
Nine months and three days later at seven ten am a app notification there someone at the shed. He opens the app to see his next door neighbor. A sixteen year old boy Jake Devan. Who was with his other next door neighbor Cory Malory another sixteen year old boy. They were best friends and normally seen together. This time they were kissing before leaving for school. That had never happened before.
Two minutes later the sound of yelling parents. Cory Malory get your butt in the car.
Then a dad yelling for Jake. David see's Jake flying out the front door, as Cory comes strolling between the house. Then the mother of one yells to the father of the other.

Both cars take off for delivery to school. David gets the key, he can't remember everything that is in there. Three almost empty boxes of Christmas stuff. A military cot made out of canvas. One lamp with five different lamp shades on top of it. That was it. He goes back inside for another cup of coffee. Remembered hiding in a closet with his future wife. Her mother caught them and kept their secret. Help them run away and get married. They never went back until they never had kids.
David get's his shopping list out and adds a few Items. Finishes his coffee and leaves for the store. After school Jake gets home by walking down the alley and through his backyard. David is waiting with the trunk to his car open. Ask Jake for twenty dollars would he help him move a box into his tuff shed. Jake said you don't have to pay me Mr. Harley. The box was big and slight heavy. It was a futon and a mattress David said twenty dollars if you put it together. Jake smile's say's Okay.
David ask's Would you like a Dr. Pepper? Yes, please Thank you was returned. Then David leaves to go next door. Tells Cory's mom he got a new futon he is too challenged and would pay Cory twenty dollars to put it together for him. She yells for Cory and he agrees. They get back to his place ask Cory to bring a tiny refrigerator. That holds two twelve packs out to his tuff shed. He grabs three Dr, Peppers. The door opens tears start flowing the two boys embrace. They look at David. You made this happen. Why are you doing this?
David suggest their is no time to talk or fool around. They have an hour together before parents come looking. He needs that futon finished in case they ask to see it. Both started at opposite ends, one does the back piece one does the butt part. Twenty minutes later they were testing it out. Twenty minutes later David was kicking them out. Telling them through the alley, through the back gate, through the doggy door, anytime they want. Do be stupid, don't get caught.
Over the next several week the twelve by twelve tuff shed transformed into living quarters. complete with microwave and refrigerator and 22 inch flatscreen Roku TV. and connected to the internet. The boys were suppose to be in Summer School activities. They were in David's tuff shed playing house. One of the parents realizes there is no Summer School alerts the other parents and the boys face two days of questioning and loss of all privileges.
Then the boy write run away letters to each of the parents. If we cannot be boyfriends here then were are running away to Las Vegas. Then the boys disappear. The police were called neighbors interviewed, two run away gay boys are reported missing. Age sixteen and not allowed to love each other. Two day later their parents together go on on CNN Please come home. You can be boyfriends. We were wrong, your love is just as real as ours. We are very sorry.
A few hours after their appearance on television the local police have a reported sighting of the two boys at McDonalds using the a pay phone to call their parents. It turns into a media event. Gay people were going crazy. Celebrations across America. It was named Safe to be Gay week due two sixteen year old. They never answer the question where did you go? Was someone helping you?
