When my gay son asked to borrow the family camping equipment I had my concerns. A bunch of his muscle boys friends are 'roughing it' with blowup mattresses and clean sheets. Someone is bring their grandpa's portable toilet and an extra text just for doing that. Someone brought a 12 x 12 tent just for group sex.
I am proud to say my gay son taught them all how to use a camping stove and cook all ten of them French toast in the morning. Not sure why this picture got mixed up in with the one he sent me of his breakfast. That is him and his boyfriend naked and kissing. He looks happy, and naked.
They offered to buy the camping equipment. His straight brothers don't want it and they got kids they could take camping some day. A handsome man with common sense, he learned from my mistakes. Turned out gay of all things. It still freaks me out when I think about it. I am so damn proud of him, he's just gay and so close to perfect.
The kid has his shit together at twenty three next month on the sixth. I should just give all that camping gear to him as a birthday present. I tell him to keep his five hundred dollars. Happy Birthday. I just want him to be happy, forever. That not so easy for gay guys.
