At twenty one on father's day I gave my dad a bottle of Crown Royal.
The first time I can legally buy alcohol, and they don't even card me.
They all know my father, and that the Crown is for him.
I cooked him a T-bone steak medium rare, salt and pepper.
Bake potato, Broccoli in Velveeta cheese sauce.
I say yuk but he loves it, and he is having fun.
Food heaven and all his favorites.
He moves to the couch after dinner and with his forth cocktail.
He sings religious song, but his is not religious, grandma was.
He tells me his boyfriend was shot in the war and died in his arms.
It is why his face his messed up and he could love him.
He can't be gay, he can't be straight more Crown Royal please.
I suggest he could go to bed, to take a bottle water with him.
He tells me he misses him and that's why mom got pissed.
It is what makes him crazy and why he can't sleep, why he drinks.
In love with a man he can't have, he so want's to be together.
He wants my hand to stand up. He gives me a hug.
Thanks for dinner, the stake was perfect son.
I will see you the morning, providing I wake up from this.
I am not so sure he wants to wake up sometimes.
Makes things scary and sad.
But we made it through another day.
I yell I love you dad then he yells I love you kid.
We both yell... Happy father's day.
