Daddy Issues - Story Time Blog

I spent several years putting down gay people afraid my son Jason was one. Now that he is one he refuses to admit it, acknowledge it, or have any friends because of it. My wife seem to think it was the not knowing that was killing me. Once everything was out in the open we would deal with it. It was more about not having the conversation. A son should be able to talk to his dad about anything. I screwed that up.

We have dozens of dinner conversations where I ask him to start bring guys home. You got three hours everyday after school for gay stuff. Be gay. Finally his mother seems to think there are signs he hooked up after school. We don't say a word. Then he starts talking about a new kid. Perry that transfer into a bunch of his classes. His mother says she is washing more towels, and I get a slight increase in our water bill.

Friday a teacher work day student go half a day. I take the days off and take my truck in for service, they check me in and give me a ride back home, and will pick me up when it is ready. My son and Perry show up after school and start groping and making out with each other the minute they close the front door not knowing I was home.

They finally make it up to his room and slam the door clothes, I walked by about twelve minutes later and some one was having sex. Another ten minutes later they exit the room and go take a shower. I wait until they exit the shower and I can hear them both talking. I open the unlocked door. The look on my son face was priceless. Almost relief the hiding was over.

Dad - Oh I thought you were alone I have been home all day wait for Chevy to fix my truck. After you two get dress and then introductions. I will be down in the kitchen.

As a dad I was nervous as hell I had fuck this up and I was disparate to fix it.

Jason - You have all ready seen us naked relax. Dad this is Perry the new student I told you and mom about. He volunteered to try doing gay stuff with me. We are both just weirded out about the gay label at school so no but but you knows were are doing gay stuff.

Dad - Nice to meet you Perry.

Perry - Nice to meet you Sir. I am not out to my parents so please don't assume anything if you ever happen to meet them.

Dad - I will assume you are over the age of 16 and a willing participant in whatever you boys having been doing since you walked in the door and then up and until this point.

Perry - Yes Sir. A very active and willing participant.

Dad - Jason you have nothing to say?

Jason - Not really, dad. We are going to get dressed and play video games.

That was it. I had a son that admitted to trying gay stuff with a guy he likes. He was leaning that direction but for self preservation reasons was waiting to make completely sure before announcing it to the world. Then as the sounds of two young boys playing a video game take over. That was my daddy issue. All this time it was me being afraid that I couldn't keep him safe as a gay kid. I did not want him to be gay for dad reason, dad issues, not because I did not want him to be gay or happy. I just knew about all the hate out there, and grew up part of that. Until I had one of my own.
